The Torino of Italy defender who played a part in the Super Eagles’ third-place finish at this year’s Africa Cup of Nation held in Egypt was ruled out of the encounter against the South American foes after he picked up an injury in a domestic accident.

Although no further details were given, the announcement was made on the official Twitter page of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.

This happening is coming few days after Bordeaux winger, Samuel Kalu, pulled out of the game due to an injury and is to be replaced by Viv Efosa Solomon-Otabor.

Kalu missed Bordeaux’s 3-1 win at Toulouse recently due to the same injury and will not recover in time for Nigeria’s big clash against Brazil in Singapore.

His replacement, Viv Efosa Solomon-Otabor, plays for Bulgarian side, CSKA Sofia. The 23-year-old was born in Birmingham, England, and was formerly with Portsmouth before moving to Eastern Europe to join the Phoenixes.

Kalu was also a member of the Super Eagles squad to the AFCON 2019, although he failed to make much impact after he collapsed due to dehydration as a result of the temperature of the host country, Egypt.

Nigeria and Brazil rekindle their rivalry with both countries meeting several times at age-grade tournaments; the most popular being the meeting in the semi-final of the football event of the Atlanta 1996 Olympics which the Dream Team One triumphed 3-2 before beating Argentina 2-0 in the final to make history as the first African country to win the Olympics football event.
